Summit Academy Management seeks a Title One Teacher and/or Tutor to deliver targeted reading and math interventions to students, with emphasis on Tier 2 and 3 learners in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS and an Ohio teaching certificate, with experience in diverse learner populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education or related field.
• Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license.
• Criminal background clearance as per Ohio requirements.
• Special education training preferred.
• Experience with diverse learners and students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide reading and/or math intervention focusing on Tier 2 and 3 students.
• Rank students by need for Title One services.
• Administer STAR benchmarking and progress monitoring.
• Conduct Parent Notification meetings for Title One eligibility.
• Provide Parent Notification of Title One services.
• Develop a Title One schedule.
• Maintain a daily Time and Effort Log.
• Support parental involvement through meetings and newsletters.
• Demonstrate thorough planning and organization.
• Use diverse instructional methods to meet student needs.
• Maintain knowledge of the subject matter taught.
• Uphold school rules and create positive classroom climate.
• Maintain positive relations with parents and community.
• Participate in professional improvement activities.
• Serve on district curriculum committees.
• Plan and implement IPDP as required by LPDC.
• Maintain professional behavior and dress professionally.
