Job summary

The Leona Group in Detroit, MI is seeking a paraprofessional to provide supplemental instructional support to eligible students. You will deliver targeted interventions, maintain student records, and collaborate with Title I and General Education Teachers to promote student progress.

Responsibilities include administering assessments, attending conferences, and contributing to teams such as RTI or data team. A commitment to confidentiality and flexible, student-centered support is essential.

Qualifications

• Complete at least two years of study at an accredited institution (60 semester hours) or obtain an associate's degree or higher.
• Demonstrate knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics instruction, or readiness in these areas.
• Pass approved state assessments as a demonstration of knowledge in instructional support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interventions to students based on instructional plans.
• Report outcomes to teachers with daily student outcome reports.
• Administer assessments and screeners to inform instructional decisions.
• Attend parent/teacher conferences as needed to support communication with parents.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and required logs.
• Communicate progress and concerns with Title I and General Education Teachers.
• May serve on RTI, data, PBS, or school improvement teams.
• Assist in enforcing behavior expectations and maintaining a safe classroom environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
