Job summary

Tualatin Elementary School in Tualatin, Oregon is seeking an Instructional Assistant 3 (Title I) to support licensed teachers in delivering language, reading, writing and math instruction for students with language needs. Qualifications

• 72 quarter hours of credit or an associate’s degree or a rigorous assessment demonstrating knowledge in instruction of reading, writing and math.
• Praxis Parapro test accepted as alternate qualification.
• High qualification standards must be met to support ELL students.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed teachers in implementing instructional programs for students with language needs.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom discipline.
• Provide translation support and assist with ELL assessments and activities.
• Escort and monitor students in various school environments as needed.
• Collaborate with the ELL/classroom teacher to implement educational programs.
