Job summary

First American is seeking a Title Officer to join our fast-paced residential real estate team. You will perform title examinations, analyze records, verify information, and collaborate with customers, attorneys, and lenders to ensure title insurability before closing.

You will review deeds, mortgages, and other documents, create and revise title commitments, and support the closing process with accurate, detail-oriented work.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of title-related real estate experience with at least 2 years examining title.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and deliver accurate title work.
• Excellent communication with internal teams, attorneys, and lenders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, attorneys, and lenders to resolve issues impacting title insurability prior to closing.
• Perform title examination to examine the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, both residential and commercial.
• Analyze records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plat/map books, and property surveys.
• Create and revise title commitments as necessary.
• Verify title insurance rates and coverage on the title commitment per instructions and guidelines.
• Review and approve deeds, operating agreements, trusts, wills, affidavits of heirships, corporate resolutions, and articles of incorporation/organization.
