Job summary

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company is seeking experienced Title Examiners/Abstractors in Texas to research public records and determine the legal condition of property titles. You will compile chains of title, prepare abstracts, and interpret deeds and other documents impacting ownership.

The role requires proficiency with MS Office and related title software, strong communication, and the ability to work under deadlines while traveling across the state.

Qualifications

• Ability to research public records to determine title condition.
• Ability to compile and prepare chains of title and abstracts with summaries.
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates and other documents affecting ownership.
• Complete title acquisition packages and title commitments.
• Identify title defects and prepare related correspondence and evidence.

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

• Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title
• Knowledge of researching public records
• Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership
• Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments
• Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence based on searches, opinion letters, title evidence, and prior policies

Here’s what we are looking for

• Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Self-discipline and motivation to perform tasks independently
• Ability to work under strict deadlines
• Ability to travel throughout the state to various courthouses
• 2+ years of title experience, mineral experience a plus
• Experience completing complex mineral title
• Real Estate License a plus
• Acquisition experience a plus
