Job summary

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company is seeking experienced Title Examiners/Abstractors in Texas to research public records, examine titles, and prepare accurate chains of title with detailed summaries. You will interpret deeds, easements, plats, and related documents affecting ownership and assemble title packages and commitments.

Applicants should have 2+ years of title experience; mineral title expertise is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of title experience; mineral experience a plus.
• Knowledge of researching public records and chains of title.
• Ability to travel to courthouses statewide; actuarial travel not required.
• Real Estate License a plus; acquisition experience a plus.
• Experience completing complex mineral title.

Responsibilities

• Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title.
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates and other documents affecting ownership.
• Complete title acquisition packages and title commitments.
• Identify title defects and prepare title-related correspondence, opinions, and title evidence.

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company, one of the fastest-growing land management and acquisition agencies in the country, is currently accepting applications for experienced Title Examiner/Abstractors in Texas.

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

• Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title
• Knowledge of researching public records
• Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership
• Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments
• Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence based on searches, opinion letters, title evidence, and prior policies

Here’s what we are looking for

• Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Self-discipline and motivation to perform tasks independently
• Ability to work under strict deadlines
• Ability to travel throughout the state to various courthouses
• 2+ years of title experience, mineral experience a plus
• Experience completing complex mineral title
• Real Estate License a plus
• Acquisition experience a plus
