Job summary

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company in Texas is seeking experienced Title Examiners/Abstractors to research public records and examine titles, determine the legal condition of property titles, and prepare title abstracts with summaries of all matters of record.

The role requires strong computer skills, excellent communication, and the ability to travel to courthouses statewide while meeting tight deadlines. Mineral title experience and a license are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of title experience required.
• Mineral title experience is a plus.
• Ability to travel statewide to courthouses.
• Real Estate License is a plus.
• Experience with mineral title work is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office and deed plotting tools.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title.
• Knowledge of researching public records.
• Compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record.
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership.
• Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments.
• Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence.

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company, one of the fastest-growing land management and acquisition agencies in the country, is currently accepting applications for experienced Title Examiner/Abstractors in Texas.

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

• Research public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property title
• Knowledge of researching public records
• Ability to compile and prepare chains of title, and make abstracts of title with summaries of all matters and instruments of record
• Interpret deeds, easements, plats, leases, court actions, probates, and other documents impacting property ownership
• Complete documents that include title acquisition packages and title commitments
• Identify possible title defects, prepare title-related correspondence based on searches, opinion letters, title evidence, and prior policies

Here’s what we are looking for

• Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, flow chart software, and deed plotting software
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
• Self-discipline and motivation to perform tasks independently
• Ability to work under strict deadlines
• Ability to travel throughout the state to various courthouses
• 2+ years of title experience, mineral experience a plus
• Experience completing complex mineral title
• Real Estate License a plus
• Acquisition experience a plus
