Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in title examination (minimum 2 years)
• Experience with preparing title commitments and policies
• Familiarity with title insurance concepts, practices, and procedures
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and tasks requiring precision

Responsibilities

• Examine title orders within underwriter guidelines to determine conditions of title and insurability
• Research title plant software and analyze documents for ownership and legal descriptions
• Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers and managers
• Recognize title defects and formulate curative measures
• Assess risks and liabilities and escalate to managers/underwriter as appropriate
• Prepare accurate title commitments in accordance with state procedures
• Maintain production levels and delivery standards daily
• Provide customer service to ensure closing dates are met
