Bayway Auto Group in The Woodlands, TX, is hiring for a Title Assistant (Title Clerk) to maintain accurate vehicle titles and interact with customers and dealers. This full-time position reports to the Controller and is based in person at The Woodlands location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Dealership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must be punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Review vehicle titles for accuracy and completeness including VIN, odometer, and release of liens.
• Verify acceptance of title in the filing state.
• Confirm negotiability of title document and report discrepancies.
• Interact with customers, dealers, and regulatory representatives to resolve title issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of DMV title regulations for states processed.

Position Summary

Position: Title Assistant

Classification: Full Time; Exempt

Reports To: Controller

Work Location: In person; The Woodlands

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

• Review vehicle titles for accuracy and completeness to include VIN, odometer reading and release of liens
• Verify acceptance of title in state for which it is filed
• Confirm negotiability of title document and report any title discrepancies
• Interact with customers, dealers and representatives of regulatory agencies in resolution of title issues
• Maintain current knowledge of DMV regulations regarding vehicle titles for each state in which vehicles are processed
• Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Dealership Experience Required
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Able to work individually as well as part of a team
• Quick learner with attention to detail

Relevant Work Experience & Other Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Dealership experience preferred.
• Must meet dealerships requirements for employment which include background check and drug screening.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable based on driving record.
• Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
