Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is hiring a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger, light truck, heavy truck, and industrial vehicles. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles and perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks.

You must lift up to 250 lbs, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and maintain a valid driver’s license. We offer 401(k) and 401(k) Matching, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus paid on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger, light truck, heavy truck, and industrial vehicles.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles including fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Lift/move tires weighing up to 250 lbs. and work with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for all vehicle types.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles.
• Perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Operate service trucks as needed and ensure safe vehicle operation.
• Load/unload inventory and assist with stock counts.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires: passenger, light truck, large truck, and industrial
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles including:
• Perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Operate company vehicles safely, following all traffic and speed regulations
• Respond to service calls using a service truck (F-350) when necessary
• Load/unload inventory and assist with physical stock counts
• Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)
• Follow all safety procedures, training guidelines, and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills / Education / Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older; 21 years or older to drive
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance
• Able to perform repetitive and sustained physical exertions, including bending, lifting, kneeling, and exposure to vibrations
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime maybe required.
