Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking tire technicians to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger, light truck, heavy-duty, and industrial fleets. You will troubleshoot vehicle systems, perform regular inspections, and respond to service calls with a service truck as needed.

Applicants should be able to lift 30–250 lbs., pass a drug screen, and have a valid driver’s license. Overtime and flexible hours may be required; comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred.
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
• Able to perform repetitive and sustained physical exertions.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles.
• Perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Operate company vehicles safely, following all traffic and speed regulations.
• Respond to service calls using a service truck when necessary.
• Load/unload inventory and assist with physical stock counts.
• Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
• Follow all safety procedures, training guidelines, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires: passenger, light truck, large truck, and industrial
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles including:
• Perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Operate company vehicles safely, following all traffic and speed regulations
• Respond to service calls using a service truck (F-350) when necessary
• Load/unload inventory and assist with physical stock counts
• Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)
• Follow all safety procedures, training guidelines, and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills / Education / Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older; 21 years or older to drive
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance
• Able to perform repetitive and sustained physical exertions, including bending, lifting, kneeling, and exposure to vibrations
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime maybe required.
