Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in the United States is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across vehicles from passenger cars to large trucks. The role includes diagnosing mechanical issues on semi-trucks, performing PM inspections, and conducting fleet maintenance.

You will operate a service truck for roadside calls, participate in ongoing safety training, and uphold company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on passenger cars, light trucks, and semis.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Conduct routine fleet inspections and maintenance.
• Operate service truck for roadside calls when needed.
• Assist with inventory loading and unloading.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).

Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.

Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
