Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger cars, light trucks, heavy-duty fleets, and industrial vehicles. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, responding to roadside service calls, and maintaining TPMS.

You will participate in fleet inspections, routine maintenance, and ongoing safety training while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and awkward postures or under vibration.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
