Oak View Group is seeking a Banquet Captain in the Sioux City area to coordinate all banquet service and ensure exceptional guest experiences during events. You will lead banquet staff, collaborate with culinary and events teams, and uphold service standards and timelines.

The role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 - $22.00 and is tip eligible. Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) savings plan and matching, with the position remaining open through December 31, 2026.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
• Strong knowledge of banquet operations, service standards, and event execution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and service teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event needs.

Mansioni

• Reviews assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to the scheduled event.
• Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are met, assign stations and partners, and review banquet event orders.
• Communicates with the Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager or Event Coordinator to ensure details are planned and met; ensures changes are made timely.
• Ensures quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available; secures requisitions for items not in inventory.
• Checks room setup prior to the event and confirms quantities of food items and timing with the Executive Chef.
• Ensures proper handling of all equipment and storage after use.
• Conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service, ensuring correct temperature, placement, quantity, and upsell opportunities.
• Regularly reviews the banquet schedule for changes and events; promotes safe work practices and reliable attendance.
