Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time School Test Administrators to administer TIMSS assessments in schools across the United States. The role involves in-person, computer-based testing, coordinating with schools, and managing logistics including travel and equipment handling.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, English fluency, and strong communication skills; training is required. Expect a schedule of roughly 15 hours/week with some weekdays and potential overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• One-year experience directly or indirectly related to field interviewing, data collection, teaching and/or working with children in schools.
• Comfortable working in a school setting and in all types of neighborhoods.
• Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal automobile available for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment such as Chromebooks and internet routers.
• Competent with internet and computer applications.
• Access to password protected WiFI connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Ability to travel, overnight as required.
• Willingness to travel by air and obtain REAL ID or TSA approved alternative.

Responsibilities

• Administering computer-based assessments to students in-person in schools.
• Contacting schools to discuss the study, answer questions, confirm participation and review/setup assessment logistics.
• Collecting confidential information and administering standardized questionnaires.
• Meeting with principals or district personnel to gain cooperation.
• Independently managing administrative duties, including conference calls and training.
• Traveling to local or regional school sites; occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Managing travel logistics and tracking related information.
• Transmitting data after student sessions and maintaining records.
