Job summary

Collins Aerospace in San Marcos, TX, is seeking a Welder I for the first shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM). The role involves performing TIG welding with minimal supervision, operating welding machines, inspecting work with precision gauges, and ensuring quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, completing accurate production paperwork, and adhering to EHS/CI standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or GED) or vocational/technical education with 1+ year welding experience.
• 6 months reading and interpreting blueprints/engineering drawings for welding equipment.
• 6 months experience with general hand and/or power tools.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding with minimal supervision to meet quality and production standards.
• Operate automatic and manual welding machines per specifications with proper setup and calibration.
• Perform post-weld cleaning to ensure production quality.
• Inspect dimensions using precision gauges to ensure specifications.
• Read blueprints and specifications to guide welding tasks.
• Complete production documentation including labor transactions and quality reporting.
