Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Welder I for 1st shift to perform TIG welding, operate welding machines, and interpret blueprints for production tasks. You will inspect parts with precision gauges, document labor and quality data, and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires at least a HS diploma or GED with welding experience; overtime and extended shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent; 1 year welding experience preferred.
• Familiarity with TIG welding and reading blueprints is required.
• Ability to operate manual/automatic welding machines and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate TIG welding proficiency with minimal supervision to meet quality standards.
• Operate welding machines and calibrate setups per specifications.
• Read blueprints and spec sheets to guide welding activities.
• Inspect dimensions with precision gauges to ensure spec compliance.
• Complete production documentation including labor and quality reports.
• Support EHS, CI and safety guidelines; participate in continuous improvement.
• Work extended shifts and overtime as needed.
