Job summary

RTX is seeking an Onsite Welder II for the US-TX-SAN MARCOS area to perform advanced TIG welding with minimal supervision, aligning with precise manufacturing specs. The role involves operating automatic and manual welding equipment, inspecting parts, and supporting furnace assembly processes on a second shift (3P-11:30P) with potential overtime.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years TIG welding experience, blueprint reading skills, and proficiency with welding tools and CNC equipment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or GED) or vocational/technical training with 1+ year experience
• 2+ years reading blueprints/engineering drawings to weld equipment
• 2+ years using hand/power tools
• 3-4 years TIG welding experience preferred
• Maintenance or automated welding experience preferred
• Familiarity with resistance welding

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding with minimal supervision
• Operate automatic and manual welding machines per specifications
• Perform post-weld cleaning to maintain quality
• Inspect dimensions with precision gauges to ensure specs
• Learn alloy and assembly operations for furnace operations
• Operate CNC equipment as required for welding
• Perform non-production welds and support specialized tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints/spec sheets for welding tasks
• Complete production documentation and quality reporting
• Comply with EHS, CI, and quality guidelines
• Participate in Continuous Improvement for efficiency and safety
• Work extended shifts/overtime as required
• Some holidays may be required
• Other duties as assigned
