Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols.
• Ability to produce welds that pass visual inspection and destructive tests.
• Ability to use tape measures, squares, rules and dial calipers.
• Basic math skills; conversions and calculations.
• Knowledge of welding machines and setup.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• ITAR compliance: U.S. person required.

A well-established aerospace manufacturing company in Phoenix is looking for an experienced aerospace TIG Welder. You need to be detailed oriented, highly organized, creative, flexible and a great team player. Only qualified individuals need to apply.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Performs advanced welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision
• Interprets complex blueprints, manufacturing drawing and written work instructions, as well as reads and interprets AWS welding symbols
• Sets up welding equipment in accordance with the appropriate Weld Process Specifications (WPS)
• Completes weldments to the applied AWS welding code and blueprint requirements
• Positions weldment details in location using fixtures, jigs, tape measure, square, rule, and caliper to meet blueprint, manufacturing drawings and quality requirements
• Observes and practices safety procedures and policies
• Perform and meet all Qualification requirements Per AWS D17.1/D17.1 (class A requirements) which includes qualifying to base metal groups: 4130 , 17.7 PH, 718, and Aluminum Alloys, thickness and position for both groove and fillet welds.

Knowledge and Experience Required

• High School diploma or equivalent experience
• 5 years of experience in Aerospace welding
• Strong understanding of Fusion welding procedures & processes
• Must have experience working with aerospace materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols
• Ability to produce welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test
• Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, rules and dial calipers)
• Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations
• Knowledge of welding machines and set up
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Must comply with Jager-2 Vision test compliance
