Aerotek in Indianapolis, IN seeks a TIG Welder for a contract-to-hire role to join our expanding welding team. The candidate will perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel, read blueprints, prepare materials, and ensure weld integrity while adhering to OSHA safety standards.

The role involves working in well-equipped welding booths with snorkel systems, on two shifts with a pay range of $21.00–$29.00 per hour, and a benefits package including health, vision, and 401(k) plans.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Capable of passing MIG/TIG weld tests and a basic decimals/measurements test.
• Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.

Job Description

We are seeking skilled welders to join our expanding welding team. Our company specializes in manufacturing and marketing auto parts such as mufflers, silencers, exhaust tubes, thermal management tubing, and hydraulic and lubrication assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel materials.

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to ensure accurate welding processes.

• Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and arranging them as needed.

• Ensure the quality and strength of welds by adhering to industry standards and inspecting completed work.

• Utilize welding machines and tools efficiently, including handling equipment for different welding positions such as flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.

• Implement safety precautions and comply with OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

• Collaborate within a team environment while working in designated welding booths equipped with snorkel systems to manage debris.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

• Capability to pass MIG/TIG weld tests and a basic math test involving decimals and measurements.

• Experience in working with various materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in grinding and fabricating stainless steel.

• Familiarity with welding machines and tools used in the industry.

• Possession of personal welding helmet and gloves.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
