Job summary

Oneida Innovations Group is seeking a Computer Engineer to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. You will install, diagnose, repair, and upgrade hardware while ensuring optimal workstation performance and provide end-user training and assistance as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of related IT experience, plus hands-on hardware troubleshooting and knowledge of network protocols.

  • Certifications MCP or CompTIA A+ preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of network and PC hardware.

  • Working knowledge of current network protocols and operating systems.
  • On-call availability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver PC service levels for end users.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to users and staff.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot workstation hardware and networking equipment.
  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot workstation software and networking software.
  • Analyze complex PC problems on-site and implement hardware solutions.
  • Respond to incoming calls, pages, or emails regarding PC issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of monitors, keyboards, drives, printers, and peripherals.
  • Monitor PC performance and generate performance reports.
  • Document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals.
  • Uphold procedures for logging and reporting PC performance.

Summary

The Computer Engineer's role is to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. They will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion; and provide end user training and assistance where required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Effectively works with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels.
  • Continually provides training and support to end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.
  • Effectively installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots associated end user workstation software and networking software products when necessary.
  • Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users. Recommends and implements corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
  • Receives and responds to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
  • Develops and maintains an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Monitors and tests PC performance, and provides PC performance statistics and reports.
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
  • Accurately documents instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field; or at least three years related work experience.
  • Must have at least one year related work experience in the Casino, Hospitality or Entertainment industry; or other high volume, complex, demanding customer oriented IT environments.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), CompTIA A+ and/or, other related technical certification preferred.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
  • Must have hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Must have working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards. Possesses the ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • On-call availability
