Job summary
NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company in Houston is seeking a Tier 2 NOC engineer to escalate and resolve complex network incidents. You will own problem ownership, work across TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, and WAN/LAN environments, and interact with enterprise customers in real time.
You will gain hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper hardware and monitoring tools while collaborating with senior engineers to ensure uptime and service quality in a high-visibility setting.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years in a NOC or technical support environment.
- Strong hands-on networking experience including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs.
- Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Troubleshooting voice, data/IP, transport and email systems.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Adtran and Fortinet hardware.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Netcool or similar ticketing/monitoring tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot complex network incidents, identify root causes, and drive resolutions.
- Monitor networks and maintain service health across enterprise environments.
- Coordinate with vendors, field teams, and on-call rotations.
- Document incidents and communications with customers.
- Assist in disaster recovery and contingency procedures.
