Candidates should have 2+ years of network admin experience, a BS in CS or related field, Security+ and TS/SCI/Top Secret eligibility. CCNA within 6 months is expected, with Arista/Cisco gear and Palo Alto firewalls experience preferred.

**Requirements**:

• 2+ years of Network Administration experience
• Active TS/SCI or active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
• Active Security+ certification
• Willing to obtain a CCNA within 6 months of obtaining the role
• Open to working rotating shift schedule that could include nights or weekends:
  • Shift 1 (6:00 am - 2:00 pm)
  • Shift 2 (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
  • Shift 3 (10:00 pm - 6:00 am)

Title: Tier 2 Network Administrator

Location(s): 100% on site in Suffolk, VA

Duration: 6 - 12 months contract to hire

Pay rate on contract: $45 - $55 per hour contingent upon experience

Salary range upon conversion: $85,000 - $105,000 annually

Job Description:

We are seeking a Tier 2 Network Administrator to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network. This role ensures 24/7/365 availability and reliability. The position requires technical expertise to support end-to-end network, system, and element visibility, facilitating operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning to maintain the operational integrity of a mission-critical network.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to identify, triage, and address outages.
• Utilize monitoring tools to oversee network infrastructure, performance, and availability of managed services.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, and software/hardware updates.
• Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations.
• Operate and maintain privileged access solutions.
• Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures.
• Keep firmware, software updates, and patches up to date for equipment.
• Support the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of network components.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Additional experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Two years of relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure.

Technical Skills

• Experience with Arista or Cisco equipment is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SD-WAN.
• Working knowledge of VLANs and VRFs.
• Familiarity with Spine-Leaf Architecture.
• Experience with network visibility tools such as Gigamon or NetScout.
• Knowledge of Cisco ISE.
• Experience with Arista CloudVision.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
