Everforth Apex seeks a Senior Network Engineer to support a secure DoD-grade enterprise network in a high-security environment in Lorton, VA. You will design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and robust threat prevention across multiple domains.

You will lead in firewall policy optimization, incident lifecycle handling, and cross-domain data transfer security while maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with NIST/FISMA/STIG frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, or a Master’s with 6+ years.
• CCNP or higher network certification required.
• Experience with LAN/WAN switches and firewalls in enterprise networks.
• Defense-in-depth principles and security architecture knowledge.
• Ability to install, configure, and maintain Cisco network gear and security appliances.
• Experience with incident lifecycle management and post-action reporting.
• Familiarity with NIST/FISMA/STIG compliance and ATO processes.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting, sustaining, designing, and evolving the enterprise network.
