Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Network Operations Specialist for an onsite role in Norfolk, VA. The position supports a large government client and requires U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

The role focuses on infrastructure and network monitoring, incident management, data center support, and precise shift handovers. It is a long-term contract on the 2nd shift (Wed-Fri, every other Saturday) from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM EST.

Qualifications

• Active CompTIA Security+ Certification
• 2+ years of Networking experience
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure and Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor infrastructure and network, responding to alerts and events.
• Incident Management: Handle incidents from triage through resolution, including escalations.
• Infrastructure Repairs: Coordinate and direct remote activities to maintain operational effectiveness.
• Root Cause Analysis: Provide thorough root cause analysis documentation per Government procedures.
• Data Center Support: Offer support for data center operations as needed.
• Shift Documentation: Record daily shift activities in reporting and ticketing tools with proper handover.
• Incident Notification: Notify Government representatives of incidents as required.

Apex Systems has an immediate opening for a Network Operations Specialist supporting one of our large government clients in Norfolk, VA.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.

Duration: Long Term Contract

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Wednesday – Friday every other Saturday | 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM EST
