Ideal candidates bring network operations experience, a Security+ certification, and the ability to work on-site with US citizenship. The position requires TS/SCI clearance and shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance is required and you must be able to work on site.
• BA/BS or equivalent degree is required or accepted.
• Minimum 0+ years of experience with potential preference for more.
• IAT Level II - Security Plus certification is required or preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of network monitoring tools and metrics.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fault management to detect, isolate, and correct network anomalies 24/7.
• Monitor nodes for operational integrity and respond to trouble calls.
• Initiate and maintain trouble tickets and logs documenting actions.
• Populate trouble logs and performance metrics for analysis.
• Provide technical support to resolve problems or escalate as needed.
• Monitor and administer network tools for troubleshooting and trend analysis.
• Record issues in the approved system for reporting and trend analysis.
• Support data network planning, engineering, and design activities.
• Report trouble calls to the MCC in the DOC and provide hourly updates.
• Prepare quarterly metrics for the COR in PowerPoint format.

Network Engineer Associate

Join our technology leading team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. GDIT is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Network Engineer seeking to expand his/her experience in the IT field by joining our team in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Airforce at Langley AFB, VA.

The Network Engineering team supports the Air Forces’ Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) Operations Center (DOC). Specifically, you will be providing Tie-1 Network monitoring, Operational Support, and Help Desk services across a global enterprise.

Task: Network Monitoring/Help Desk Support Subtasks.

• Conduct fault management to detect, isolate, and correct abnormal network and information processing system component anomalies on a 24-hours-a-day, seven (7) days-a-week basis
• Monitor all nodes for operational integrity
• Respond to trouble calls
• Initiate and maintain trouble tickets and other logs to document these anomalies as well as corrective actions
• Populate and examine trouble and error logs for troubleshooting and capturing metrics
• Provide technical support to resolve the problem or esca-

• Log all network issues utilizing the 480 ISRW approved system of record for problems, errors, and maintenance in such a way to easily generate reports for trend analysis
• Provide technical support in data network planning, engineering, and design
• Report all trouble calls upon receipt to the MCC in the DOC and provide hourly updates until resolution unless otherwise directed by the DOC Crew Commander
• Provide quarterly metrics illustrating trends and workload to the COR in the form of a PowerPoint presentation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

• Minimum of three (3) years’ of network operations experience preferred
• Possess IAT Level II - Security Plus Certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of network monitoring tools
