Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Lexington, NC is hiring a Railcar Electro-Mechanical Subassembly Technician. The role focuses on assembling cable harnesses, electrical racks, panels, and related components for passenger coaches, following wiring diagrams and blueprints.

You will route, cut, twist, wrap, and terminate wires, and adapt components as engineering changes arise. A strong emphasis on dexterity and precise small-part work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Background in electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive, or electrical service industries.
• Hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints/diagrams/parts lists.
• Proficiency in electrical schematics and mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble units in passenger coaches: roofs, cable harnesses, racks, panels, piping assemblies.
• Connect wiring between components, terminals, connectors, and contact points with accuracy.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as required.
• Work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches and lists to build subassemblies.

Railcar Electro-Mechanical Subassembly TechnicianLocation: Lexington, NC | Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:30am – 4:00pmYour day at a glanceYou arrive on the production floor of Siemens Mobility’s world-class passenger railcar facility and step into a build station dedicated to creating the electrical and mechanical subassemblies that power modern trains. You’ll assemble cable harnesses, electrical racks, panels, mounted parts, and even contribute to roof sections, air supply racks, and piping assemblies for passenger coaches. With wiring diagrams and blueprints at hand, you’ll route, cut, twist, wrap, tie, and terminate wires—meticulously connecting components, terminals, connectors, and contact points. When engineering changes occur, you’ll disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as needed.
