Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking staff for its Point Loma Thrift Store in San Diego to support the ARC and local community. This part-time role focuses on welcoming customers and donors, processing transactions, stocking merchandise, and keeping the store clean and organized to ensure a positive shopping and donor experience.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with donation intake and receipt issuance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandize on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area cleanliness and organization; perform cleaning duties as needed.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies in line with TSA policies and procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards; attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages for QA.
• Assist donors with removing items from vehicles and provide receipts.
• Sort donated materials into proper containers and stack as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
