ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

As our enthusiastic and hardworking assistant store manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Partnering with the Store Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the store.
• Managing all day‑to‑day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Providing coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees.
• Ensuring customer/donor needs are met by maintaining strong customer/donor/community relations; resolving complaints and ensuring quick, efficient service.
• Communicating personnel issues with Management in the absence of the Store Manager; issuing disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations, and goals as needed in coordination with HR and District Sales Manager.
• Maintaining the store to ARC merchandising standards and ensuring adequate inventory levels.
• Overseeing back‑room processing (BRP) and ensuring Material Handlers meet daily processing goals.
• Maintaining adequate change at the beginning of each day and safeguarding cash in registers, the safe, and banking as per ARCC policy.
• Assisting the Store Manager in establishing and maintaining safety measures consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations.
• Implementing appropriate loss prevention measures.
• Performing other written or verbal duties as assigned by Management, Retail Directors, and Command Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous retail management/supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in POS/cash register operations and cash transactions.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Background check clearance (criminal history and sex offender registry).
• Strong communication skills with management, employees, customers, and donors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, carting, and moving merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

SCHEDULE

Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management; employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full‑time associates may be scheduled for any full‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
