Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler in San Bernardino, CA. This part-time role supports the thrift store and Adult Rehabilitation Program, handling sales, donations, and customer service.

You will work at the E Street thrift store with responsibilities including stocking, assisting donors, and ensuring store cleanliness and safety. Eligibility includes a HS diploma and background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to handle POS/Cash Register operations accurately.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Effective communication with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors, provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock and merchandize items on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area cleanliness and organization.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock inventory items.
• Inspect products for defects and damages.
• Assist donor with removing donated items and provide receipts.
• Sort donated material into proper containers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
