Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California in Bakersfield is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler for the Union Ave Thrift Store. You will enhance the donor and customer experience, handle donations, stock, and cash register duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register.
• Must pass background check, incl. Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandise on the sales floor as per standards.
• Sort and process donations per Salvation Army standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization; follow safety policies.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and procedures; report hazards.
