Job summary

The Salvation Army Kodiak Corps is seeking a Thrift Store Manager to oversee the Family Store operations in Kodiak, AK. You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage donations, and drive revenue growth while maintaining fiscal controls and high service standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, scheduling, and collaboration with the Warehouse Manager to optimize production systems and ensure merchandise reaches the floor efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of management experience in retail, merchandising and supervising staff; volunteers a plus.
• 2+ years in specialty retail, thrift, consignment or distribution management preferred; 3 years desired.
• Customer service experience.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and volunteers; schedule, hire, coach, evaluate and discipline as needed.
• Oversee store operations, donations, and merchandise flow to the sales floor.
• Meet or exceed revenue budgets while controlling costs.
• Ensure cash handling, deposits, and POS transactions are secure and accurate.
• Maintain store appearance and community promotion of the store.
• Coordinate with Warehouse Manager on donation processing and production systems.
