Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Thrift Store Assistant Manager in Pine Bluff, AR to support the Thrift Store Manager in planning and evaluating daily operations with a limited staff. You will lead volunteers, train staff, supervise pricing, and ensure displays are neat and turnover is maintained while assisting customers.

You will also handle opening/closing, inventory, and compliance with policies, ensuring security of funds and donated items, and support special promotions as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least two years progressively responsible experience in a retail store environment.
• At least one year supervisory experience in a retail setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers and monitors day-to-day operations of a small thrift store.
• Trains staff and volunteers in proper procedures.
• Inspects staff and volunteers for accuracy and completeness.
• Plans, organizes, and supervises store merchandising and displays.
• Ensures stock rotation and pricing supports turnover.
• Supervises receiving, sorting, pricing, and distribution of donated items.
• Assists customers at the register and maintains store security and records.
