Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a dedicated Retail Store Manager for our Victorville thrift store. This role oversees day-to-day operations, drives customer service and sales, and ensures efficient donation handling and pricing practices.

You will lead a team, schedule shifts, and maintain safety and policy compliance at the store. Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of supervisory retail experience, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years retail management/supervisory experience.
• Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register and have ability to schedule and supervise store employees.
• Must hold a valid driver's license, be able to show proof of insurance.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the assigned store location.
• Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals set by Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
• Ensures Customer/Donor needs are met by maintaining good Customer/Donor/Community relations; complaints are resolved; and service is quick and efficient.
• Schedules store employees to ensure coverage in-store and donation center; coordinates daily meetings.
• Ensures store is rotated to manage space and checkout flow effectively.
• Supervise employees to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
• Responsible for interviewing and processing for hiring new store employees.
• Provides training for new personnel on store policies and procedures.
• Manages disciplinary actions and performance evaluations in coordination with HR.
• Maintains daily backup of cash handling and banking procedures as per ARCC policy.
• Attends monthly district meetings and stores' monthly team meetings.
• Ensures safety measures align with ARC policy and regulations.
