Job summary

Salvation Army SF Geary Store is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily retail operations, drive sales, and mentor program participants. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth opening/closing, inventory, and customer service excellence.

The role involves supervising staff, managing budgets, and upholding ARC standards while maintaining a welcoming environment for donors and customers. On-site work in San Francisco requires reliability and leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR report (required), able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Store Manager on daily store operations.
• Oversee operations in Store Manager's absence.
• Monitor key performance indicators to drive store sales and profitability.
• Schedule Store Employees to ensure appropriate coverage in store and donation center; manage payroll records.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, training and directing the store team; develop and coach staff.
• Ensure customer and donor satisfaction and maintain community relations.
