Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC San Francisco is seeking an on-site Store Assistant Manager for the SF Geary Store. You will partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, maintain merchandising standards, and manage staff and donations to maximize store performance.

With at least two years of retail management experience, you will handle scheduling, training, and performance coaching of staff, while ensuring customer and donor satisfaction and program integration with ARC beneficiaries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR report (required), able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
• Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Analyzes key performance indicators to drive store sales and profitability as projected by budget and goals.
• Schedules store employees to ensure coverage and coordinates daily team meetings.
• Assists Store Manager with hiring, training and directing the store team; coaches performance.
• Ensures customer and donor satisfaction and develops strategies to improve service.
• Supports Back Room Processing and ensures efficiency in daily processing goals.
• Supervises, supports, and conducts reporting of program Beneficiaries as Work Therapy Assignments are used.
• Protects and secures store currency, inventory, and property; ensures safety and compliance.
