Job summary

RWB Thrift is seeking a Presorter to join our thrift store team in Manassas, VA. You will open donations, sort items into the correct bins, and perform an initial assessment of each item's condition for sale.

This hands-on role supports fast processing and accurate revenue documentation in a busy environment. You will handle a variety of donated goods, maintain a clean sorting area, and follow safety protocols while collaborating with coworkers to meet daily targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in thrift/retail, warehouse, or back-of-house roles is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle heavy lifting and sort donated items, including clothing and household goods, while following safety guidelines.
• Open bags or boxes and sort items into department tubs or bins accurately.
• Conduct initial condition assessments to determine if items are suitable for sale and document arrivals accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sorting area and ensure items are in designated areas.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and coordinate with colleagues to streamline sorting operations.
• Help meet daily sorting targets and maintain productivity.
• Assist with other tasks to support thrift store operations.
