Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift is seeking a Presorter to join our Bradenton, FL team. You will open bags or boxes of donated items, sort them into department tubs, and perform an initial assessment of each item’s condition for sale.

Your attention to detail ensures accurate intake and smooth flow through the sorting process. The role requires physical work, including lifting up to 70 lbs occasionally, standing for long periods, and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Prior thrift/retail/warehouse experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Handle heavy lifting and sort donated items including clothing, textiles, cardboard, plastics, furniture, electronics, and other items following safety guidelines.
• Open bags or boxes and sort into tubs or bins by department.
• Conduct initial condition assessment to determine suitability for sale and document arrivals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sorting area and ensure items are in designated areas.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and coordinate with colleagues to streamline sorting operations.
• Collaborate to meet daily sorting targets and maintain productivity.
• Assist with additional tasks to support thrift store operations.
