Job summary

Qualifications

• Thrift, retail, warehouse, or back-of-house experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle heavy lifting and sorting of donated items, including clothing, textiles, cardboard, plastics, furniture, electronics, and other items, while following safety guidelines.
• Open bags or boxes of donated items and sort them into appropriate tubs or bins by department.
• Conduct initial assessment of each item’s condition to determine suitability for sale and document arrivals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sorting area, ensuring items are placed in designated areas.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow store procedures to streamline sorting operations.
• Collaborate with team to achieve daily sorting targets and maintain productivity.
• Assist with other tasks as needed to support thrift store operations.
