Job summary

Community Action Stops Abuse Inc is seeking a Thrift Shop Team Lead to oversee daily thrift shop operations, inventory, and customer service. You will supervise staff, assist volunteers, process donations, and maintain appealing merchandise displays.

The role requires leadership, multitasking, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Onsite work in Florida with occasional weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of retail management experience is preferred.
• Agree to participate in all background checks.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and annual auto insurance proof are required.
• Knowledge of designer clothing is a plus.
• Must be able to multitask and work independently or in a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• All CASA staff may be required to be onsite during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and oversee thrift shop operations Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:30pm, with occasional weekends.
• Collaborate with team on inventory, customer service, and store cleanliness.
• Assist staff and volunteers to complete daily tasks.
• Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies to the Thrift Shop Manager.
• Receive and process donations with the Assistant Manager; assist with staging and merchandising.
• Perform cashier duties as needed and greet customers.
• Open and close store procedures and maintain merchandising standards.
• Rotate merchandise and ensure displays reflect seasonality and promotions.
• Dress mannequins and maintain organized shop floor.
• Handle returns and resolve conflicts with customers or donors when management is unavailable.
• Follow CASA policies and contact the Thrift Shop Manager if shifts cannot be worked.
• Execute special projects as assigned by management.

Job description

Position: Thrift Shop Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00am- 5:30pm, occasionally Saturday and or Sunday
• Help ensure the store operates smoothly by collaborating with other team members on tasks such as inventory, customer service, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.
• Assist team members and volunteers to achieve daily tasks given by management in an encouraging manner.
• Assist in keeping track of stock levels for each department on the shop floor and report any inventory discrepancies or needs to the Thrift Store Manager or Assistant.
• Work in partnership with the Assistant Manager in receiving incoming donations, sort and process merchandise, help with staging, creating space(s), refilling department(s), and open and close CASA’s Thrift Store when needed.
• Perform cashier duties as needed.
• Greet and assist customers.
• Follow and perform all store opening and closing procedures when necessary.
• Maintain merchandising and product organization of shop floor.
• Regularly rotate merchandise to ensure that items are displayed in a timely manner.
• Dress display mannequins and ensure mannequins are dressed according to season, trends, and store promotions.
• Be able to work independently or as a team member.
• Conduct returns and resolve conflict with customers and/or donors if management is unavailable.
• Follow CASA’s policies and procedures.
• Contact the Thrift Shop Manager or Assistant Manager if unable to work the scheduled shift.
• Execute special projects and other duties as determined by the Thrift Shop Manager.
• Other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Retail Management (preferred)
• Agree to participate in all background checks.
• Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance to be annually verified.
• Knowledge of designer clothing
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• All employees of CASA are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.
