Saginaw Valley State University is seeking a Thompson Scholar Program Coordinator to support student success, lead events, and coordinate reporting with partners in Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Academic Advising.

The role focuses on success coaching, leadership development, and community engagement for Thompson Scholars, with monthly reporting to the Thompson Foundation and collaboration across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in a higher education environment (Registrar, Student Services, Counseling, Advising, Admissions).
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Proactively contact incoming and current SVSU Thompson Scholars to provide support and advice for success in the program.
• Provide resources to help students succeed academically, financially, and socially.
• Be accessible and responsive to scholar needs, questions, and requests.
• Attend events and conferences with students and Thompson Foundation as needed.
• Organize and promote events to build community and support program pillars.
• Manage accurate and timely reporting to the Thompson Foundation.
• Assist in Registrar Office functions during term start/end processes.
