Job summary

Saginaw Valley State University is seeking qualified candidates for part-time Athletic Game Day Operations/Administrative Staff to support events for 21 varsity programs. The role focuses on delivering safe, organized game-day experiences and requires collaboration with multiple departments and staff to ensure smooth execution of home contests and special events.

Responsibilities include guest engagement, equipment operation, and various game-day assignments.

Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience in athletics, event operations, or sport management.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license may be required for some events.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends; schedules vary with home competition.
• Experience and ability to positively interact with all campus community members.

Responsibilities

• Enforce venue policies while maintaining a guest-friendly atmosphere.
• Greet and guide guests, opposing team personnel, and officials in athletic facilities.
• Coordinate with campus departments and event staff for contests and events.
• Be solution-oriented to ensure guests have a positive experience.
• Use confidence to prevent conflicts during guest assistance.
• Set up and tear down events using athletic equipment safely and timely.
• Operate event equipment such as radios, carts, ticket scanners, sound systems, and scoreboards.
• Review pre-event information and follow up on operational details.
