Job summary

Ventura Foods is seeking a Machine Operator 3rd to operate and maintain filling and packaging equipment at our Birmingham, AL facility. The role requires adherence to GMPs, safety policies, and food-safety standards while maintaining accurate production records.

The job involves performing PMs, minor repairs, and troubleshooting on the line, with a focus on quality and efficiency. Typical shifts run 8–12 hours, with potential on-site requirements and weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating filling/packaging equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical ability with the ability to diagnose and adjust machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate filling and/or packaging equipment; perform routine PMs and minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust equipment via HMI as needed.
• Maintain production and quality records; keep area clean and safe.
• Assist in training production assistants to meet GMPs and safety rules.
• Install and maintain information in the product library.
• Sanitize filling line equipment and manage CIP procedures with proper PPE.
• Follow SQF, GMPs, FSMA and preventive controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
