American Cruise Lines seeks Third Mates for our fleet sailing inland and coastal waterways across the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Great Lakes and rivers. Third Mates supervise safe vessel operations and lead by example aboard 35-50 ft launches, working with Deckhands and Engineers to maintain logs and deliver five-star guest service.

Expect six weeks on and three weeks off during the February–December season.

Formación

• USCG Master's license with Near Coastal endorsement (minimum 100 GRT) and TWIC.
• Piloting and boat handling on coastal and river waterways: 6 months to 1 year preferred.
• Self-disciplined, team-oriented, and able to work in a maritime environment.
• Pre-employment drug test and ongoing random testing.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Conduct safe launch operations in compliance with standards.
• Perform daily inspections of vessel spaces.
• Stand helm, security, and gangway watches in Deckhand rotation.
• Execute vessel cleaning, sanitation, and logistics tasks.
• Stand piloting watches under Captain or Mate instruction.
• Assist Engine Room Attendant with machinery maintenance.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in guest service.
• Maintain logs, reports, and records.
• Maintain professional grooming and uniforms.
