Job summary

Genpak in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Process Technician to collaborate with Process Engineering to resolve production issues, support setup and changeovers, and contribute to new product development and R&D trials. You will maintain accurate process sheets and communicate findings clearly in emails, reports and meetings.

You will lead on the production floor to improve process capabilities by reviewing data, applying new technologies, and training operators.

Qualifications

Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in plastics processing.
Two or four year technical degree or certification desirable.
Experience in plastics processing, including forming and extrusion.
Knowledge of both conventional and OMV equipment and processes.
Strong interpersonal skills to train, communicate, and lead effectively.

Responsibilities

Be the plant expert in extrusion or thermoforming and manage changeovers with minimal downtime.
Lead efforts to develop improved process capabilities through data review and new technologies.
Train all levels of operators on proper operation of equipment.
Provide process input to new product development teams and support plant startups.
Collaborate with material suppliers to understand material behavior throughout the process.
