Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Thermofluids Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role (3 days onsite on average). The engineer will define thermo-fluid and thermo-mechanical modelling requirements, perform analyses, and support in-service modifications while ensuring compliance and certification of systems.

The position requires a STEM degree with relevant thermodynamics/ fluid mechanics experience and eligibility for security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM/Engineering with 1+ years' experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or engine design
  • Experience in thermofluid systems modelling and analysis is preferred
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance (USA Citizenship)

Responsibilities

  • Define thermo-fluid system requirements and modelling needs across engine lifecycle
  • Perform thermo-fluid and thermo-mechanical analyses at whole-engine, sub-system and component levels
  • Verify and validate requirements and define test plans
  • Manage approvals, documentation, audits and compliance for thermofluid systems
  • Support product in-service activities and modifications
