Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Thermofluids Engineer in Indianapolis, hybrid (3 days onsite on avg.). The role supports the AE engine programs within the Defense business and involves thermo-fluid and thermo-mechanical analysis across whole-engine, sub-system and component levels.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, integrating systems, validating models, and ensuring compliance through audits and documentation. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM/Engineering with 1+ years’ experience in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid mechanics and/or engine design
• Master’s degree in STEM/Engineering; or PhD in STEM/Engineering
• Eligible to obtain and maintain US security clearance (US Citizenship)

Responsibilities

• Define requirements for thermo-fluid systems and thermo-mechanical modelling.
• Integrate thermo-fluid systems across the organization for optimized deployment.
• Perform technical analysis of thermo-fluid system functionality at multiple levels.
• Verify and validate that thermo-fluid aspects meet expectations and calibrate models against data.
