Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Component Design for hybrid work (onsite 3 days/week). You will develop component design definitions, enable sub-system integration, and support product realization through the supply chain.

The role emphasizes delivering hardware concepts that meet system requirements and enable testing. The ideal candidate has a engineering degree with relevant design and analysis experience, familiarity with NX, GD&T, and FEA tools such as ANSYS,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience, or higher.
Master’s degree or JD/PhD in Engineering are eligible.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance required.

Responsibilities

Create component design artefacts, such as drawings and models, meeting requirements.
Perform trade studies to optimize hardware concepts and design feasibility.
Support detailed drawings and model-based definitions for manufacturing.
Define test limits and assess results for components and engines.
Lead technical reviews and communicate solutions with stakeholders.
Prepare technical presentations and reports for project delivery.
Conduct DFMEA and risk assessments for owned components.
