Job summary

RTX, in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney, is seeking a Thermo-Fluids Engineer to join the MSEN engineering team in East Hartford. You will perform thermo-fluid analyses for bearing compartments, gearboxes, and oil/air service tubes in aircraft engines, developing methods and tools to enhance heat transfer and fluid dynamics.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Eng with 2+ years of related experience.
Experience in aviation, industrial gas turbines, turbomachinery, or automotive engines.

Responsibilities

Perform thermo-fluid design analyses for gas turbine bearing compartments, gearboxes, and oil/air service tubes.
Develop physics-based methods and numerical models to improve heat transfer and fluid-flow analysis.
Use Python and MATLAB to support engineering analysis and develop analytical tools.
Collaborate with design, structures, lubrication systems, and project engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
Communicate progress and results to peers and leadership.
