Job summary
RTX is seeking a Thermo-Fluids Engineer I to join the MSEN group in East Hartford. You will perform thermo-fluids analyses for gas turbine components used in commercial and military aircraft, contributing to physics-based results and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The role offers an Engineering Development Program rotation and strong growth opportunities within a safety-conscious, innovative aerospace environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering by start date.
- Experience with fluid-flow and heat transfer.
- Experience in analytical modeling of heat transfer.
- Experience with numerical modeling tools for heat transfer and fluid-flow analysis.
- Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Responsibilities
- Conduct fluid-thermal analysis of gas turbine bearing compartments, gearboxes, oil/air service tubes and ducts.
- Model conductive, convective, and radiative heat transfer using analytical methods.
- Collaborate with design and analytical teams to align technical requirements and goals.
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations to communicate results.
- Support development and validation of design solutions based on analysis results.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
